Snow Day!

So today I woke up, like any other day, and started getting ready for school, not noticing all SNOW falling down outside and the thick layer already covering the floor outside. Now, where I live we almost never get snow ( when we do its always really light or sludgy… -_-|| ) so when this big storm thing thing no one was really ready. Turns out, most of the schools across the area were closed – including mine.

So I stayed at home. By the end of the day, practically all of my friends had been out in the snow at some point with each other. Nobody asked me except one person ( whose text I got late… 😞).

Long story short, I have been inside all day because I had Nobody to go into the snow with! My brother and all my friends had already been out and got so cold and wet that when I asked if they wanted to go with me, nobody did…

Hopefully, school will be cancelled tomorrow as well so I can go then. If not, I’m NOT going to be happy. I’m already disappointed I didn’t get to go out so, if I do have to go to school tomorrow, I’m going to be disappointed.

Sincerely,

Christmas!

Let me start by saying….

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

I hope everyone’s looking forward to Christmas and has some nice things planned!

Now, I know what your thinking ‘isn’t it too early for Christmas?’ But, let me tell you this, I think that if it’s making people excited and happy, why shouldn’t it go on for as long as possible? Recently, I found out that some people don’t put up their Christmas tree until Christmas Eve, which I find outrageous! You have to put the tree up before then, or it doesn’t feel like Christmas.

Personally, I love Christmas. The food, the tree, advent, presents… what’s not to like?!? You get to spend time with the people you love and even that’s enough to make Christmas special! It’s a time to forget your worries and just have fun!

This was a very short post, so I’m sorry!

Have a very merry Christmas,

Music!

Music is something everyone can enjoy. Whether you listen to pop, classical, rock or even something in a different language, there’s something for everyone. But for me music is a great healer! Whenever I’ve had a hard day, or feel really tired I listen to music.

I don’t know about you, but I find that by listening to music I can feel also better about things! For example, if I’m worried about something by listen to music I can forget about those things and just relax.

Next time you feel like just curling up and going to sleep when there’s something you don’t want to do, put on your favourite song and see how you feel after that! I can assure you, It will help ALOT.

Goodbye!

Thor ragnarok – SPOILER ALERT

Ok. So I watched this film a few days ago and it was instantly one of my favourite films! I think that all the marvel films are AMAZING, but this one stood out for me along with guardians of the galaxy vol.1 & vol.2. In my opinion, the funnier films are better but this film I think will also stand out to people who have come for the action.

There are a lot of funny characters along with something for feminists out there ( Valkyrie! ) and although the main character is male, it shows the elite force made entirely of women which I think is really cool.

At the end of doctor strange, if you stay till the credits completely finish, you can see one of the scenes from Thor ragnarok where Thor comes to earth to find Loki. After that they find each other but (SPOILER ALERT!) Odin sadly dies in the coming scenes. Later in the film, Thor sees his father in his head talking to him and when that happens his eyes begin to glow and he gains lightening powers which he uses first to fight the hulk and nearer to the end Hela, the villain in the film and the goddess of death.

Over all this film was absolutely amazing and definitely in my top 5. I don’t think I would Change anything about this film because every tiny scene is just so perfect. I would recommend this to anyone over the age of 9, even though it says 12a. If you get a chance definitely go and see it I can’t describe how good it was its one of those things you have to watch to understand.

Try as hard as you can to see it as it is sooooo good,

Anime confession

Ok, one thing I have to say before anyone actually starts to like my posts is…

I’m an otaku!

If you don’t know what an otaku is, it’s basically a person who is seriously into anime. If you don’t know what anime is, well, stop reading now, go and look it up, and come back when you have finished at least one whole story ark.

Generally, I try to keep it to myself as a lot of people think it’s weird but I do have a two friends who have watched a bit of fairy tail, so I guess that’s something, and one good friend who has watched possibly more anime than me!

Now the reason I keep this to myself is because most people in Britain think it’s not normal to be so into something like that. To this I will say just one thing… I’m not just ‘into’ anime, it is my way of life. And this is completely true. Whenever I wake up I have anime in my head and whenever I go to sleep I think of anime.

Now if your not an otaku I know what your thinking, ‘this is so weird…’ but let me say this… It’s not just anime I’m obsessed with. I also listen to kpop which is a style of Korean music ( seriously if you asked me to name a song sung in English, I couldn’t!) and I spent hours just drawing!

If you asked why I liked these things, I couldn’t tell you. Maybe it’s because once you start an anime you just have to finish, or maybe that once get the kpop virus, there is no cure. I can’t tell you because I don’t know the answer, but ask yourself this…

Why shouldn’t I like it?

I guess they’re just things that define me. Although only my friends know it, they alter my personality, so if I was to stop liking them because people thought it was strange, I would be changing my personality as well.

I hope you think about this and maybe you’ll even go away and look them up, but just remember, don’t throw away something like the type of things you watch or listen to because you are worried someone will think you’re strange.

Dare to be different,

Chronicles of ancient darkness – book review

Now I know the series name sounds a bit dark, and I have to agree, but this is one of my favourite series. The first book (wolf brother) starts with a boy named Torak in the woods. His father is dying because something attacked them. This thing is coming back.

It is set in Scandinavia although I’m not sure about the time. The people in Torak’s time all belong to clans (groups of people) but Torak has been raised in the forest by his father. When his father dies he has to leave him as the bear (thing that attacked them) is chasing him down.

On his first day alone in the forest he meets a small wolf cub who stays with him for the rest of the series. One of my the things I love about this book is that the author, Michelle Paver, does parts of the book from the wolf’s perspective. It is very interesting to read this style as it Really makes you think about how the wolf would see the world and the other creatures.

Personally, I think this is an amazing book although I wouldn’t recommend it to young or squeamish readers as it does hint at gore. For example, one of the lines from the first chapter of wolf brother is ‘…he saw his fathers guts glistening in the firelight.’ Although overall I think this is a great series and I would recommend it to teens from around 11-18.

I hope this inspires you to consider reading it and if you do I hope you enjoy!
